How We Make It
The Art of Handcrafted Exhaust Systems
Every Lettieri exhaust system is born from decades of experience, precision engineering, and genuine passion for automotive excellence. Here's how we transform raw materials into acoustic masterpieces.
Design & Engineering
Each project begins with precise 3D scanning of the vehicle. Our engineers use CFD analysis to optimize exhaust flow, calculating primary tube lengths for maximum scavenging effect. Every curve and angle is designed for both performance and that signature Lettieri sound.
Material Selection
We exclusively use AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel - the same grade used in high-end kitchen equipment and chemical processing. With 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it offers superior corrosion resistance and will outlast your car.
Tube Bending
Using CNC mandrel benders, we shape each tube with millimeter precision. The mandrel inside prevents collapse and ensures smooth internal surfaces - critical for maintaining exhaust velocity and reducing turbulence.
Hand Welding
This is where artistry meets engineering. Our master welders hand-weld every joint using TIG welding, creating the signature "stack of dimes" beads. Each weld is inspected for penetration, porosity, and appearance.
Thermal Insulation
Every manifold and downpipe is wrapped in aerospace-grade silica felt insulation. This keeps heat in the exhaust stream where it belongs - increasing velocity, improving performance, and protecting surrounding components.

Before leaving Maranello, each system undergoes rigorous testing. We check fitment on jigs, test weld integrity, verify valve operation, and conduct final acoustic testing. Only perfect systems ship.
